An event permit is required if your event takes place in a public space or if you expect more than 250 guests at a venue that is not specifically designed as an event venue. You must apply at least eight weeks in advance, or twelve weeks in advance for large or complex events. Are you serving alcohol at a venue that does not have its own liquor license? Then you will also need a liquor exemption from the municipality. Noise regulations also apply to outdoor events. Contact the municipality where the event is taking place well in advance.
