The traditional kick-off takes place in January or February, to mark the start of the new year. But a kick-off can take place at any time that marks a new beginning: a new strategy, a merger, a reorganization, or the launch of a major project.
Fall (September–October) is also a popular time, especially as a follow-up to the summer vacation. Please note: January and September are peak seasons for kick-offs, so popular venues and speakers book up quickly.
