What insurance is required for a business event in the Netherlands?

There is no legally required insurance specifically for business events in the Netherlands. But “not legally required” does not mean “not necessary.”

Many municipal permits require proof of liability insurance as a condition for issuance. Venues often request a copy of a liability insurance policy before handing over the keys. And as the event organizer, you are civilly liable for any damage caused by your event.

Event liability insurance is therefore always necessary in practice. Cancellation insurance and equipment coverage depend on the situation.
