A well-crafted invitation to a formal event should include: the sender’s name and organization, the occasion or theme of the event, the date, the time (doors open + start of the program), the location with address and directions, the dress code (if applicable), RSVP instructions with a deadline, and practical information about parking or public transportation. Send the invitation six to eight weeks in advance. For informal business gatherings, three weeks is sufficient. A digital invitation is fine, but for formal occasions, a paper version still carries more weight.
