How can you increase attendance at a relationship event?

Attendance at a networking event depends on three factors: the relevance of the program, the quality of the invitation, and the timing.

Make sure your program offers real value. People don’t come just for drinks; they come for an experience, knowledge, or a network they can’t find elsewhere. Clearly communicate that value in your invitation.

Personal invitations are more effective than mass emails. Have account managers or executives send out personal invitations. This greatly increases engagement. Send out a save-the-date at least 8 weeks in advance and the official invitation 4–6 weeks beforehand.

Choose the right time. Avoid holiday periods, busy industry weeks, and Mondays and Fridays. A Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday afternoon or evening often works best for business meetings.

You might also want to mention that capacity is limited. Exclusivity creates a sense of urgency to respond.
