Large groups require more structure, not less interaction. The key is a multi-layered approach: ensure interaction on three levels simultaneously. Individually (everyone votes or writes something down), in pairs (discussions with neighbors), and as a whole group (feedback to the audience).
This way, everyone feels engaged, even in a room with 500 people. Use an experienced facilitator who can gauge the energy and adjust accordingly. Choose tools that work quickly and require no explanation, such as simple voting apps or color-coded cards.
Incorporate interactive activities at regular intervals: switch activities every 20 to 25 minutes. This will help maintain focus and prevent fatigue.
