Cancellation insurance covers financial losses if your event cannot take place due to circumstances beyond your control: extreme weather conditions, a fire at the venue, serious illness of an irreplaceable speaker, or a government decision prohibiting the event.
What is not covered: pandemics (excluded from most policies following COVID-19), insufficient registrations, the organizer’s bankruptcy, and cancellations initiated by you.
Always read the policy carefully for exclusions before signing. The devil is in the details.
