Waste becomes gold

For the Boskalis Beach Cleanup, we turned cleaning up into a mission. Because with just a trash bag, everyone gives up after ten minutes.

Hundreds of colleagues and their children headed to Katwijk, with music along the route. Every piece of plastic was immediately registered in the Literati app. This way, you could see what was lying around on the spot; rather than just "a pile of rubbish."

The best moment was at the 3D printers: a bottle that had been picked up was turned into a small souvenir. Suddenly it became very clear to the kids: this is what cleaning up achieves.

You don't get people on board by pointing fingers, but by making it visible. A cleaner coastline and a day that will be talked about for a long time to come.
